Privacy Policy

The short version: we don't collect your data. The long version is below.

No cookies. No tracking pixels. No analytics scripts watching your every click. No data sold to anyone. Ever. This is how a website should work.

Who We Are

Unfiltered is an independent commentary and news analysis site operated from the UK at unfiltered.uk-hub.uk. We publish opinion and analysis on UK politics, energy policy, media bias and related topics.

All opinions published on this site are those of the author. All factual claims are sourced and linked where possible. If you believe something is inaccurate, contact us and we will investigate.

What Data We Collect

The honest answer is: very little.

  • We do not use cookies
  • We do not use Google Analytics or any third party tracking
  • We do not use advertising networks
  • We do not sell, share or trade any user data
  • We do not build profiles of our readers

Your web browser may automatically send certain technical information to our server when you visit — this is standard for all websites and includes your IP address and browser type. This information is held in standard Apache server logs for security purposes and is not used for marketing or profiling. Logs are routinely deleted.

Newsletter

If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter we will collect your email address for the sole purpose of sending you updates from Unfiltered. We will not share your email address with any third party. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email with the word UNSUBSCRIBE.

Third Party Links

Our articles link to external sources to back up factual claims. Once you click an external link you are subject to that website's own privacy policy. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external sites.

Share buttons on article pages (Twitter/X, Facebook, WhatsApp) will connect you to those platforms if you choose to use them. We do not pre-load any scripts from these platforms — the buttons only activate when you click them.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Know what personal data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of any personal data we hold
  • Object to processing of your personal data
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

Given we collect almost no personal data, most of these rights will be straightforward to exercise. Contact us if you have any concerns.

Defamation and Legal

All opinions published on Unfiltered are clearly labelled as such. Truth is an absolute defence against defamation claims under UK law. Where we make factual assertions we believe them to be accurate and will provide sources on request.

We operate in the public interest. Reporting on and commenting on the actions of public figures, politicians, publicly funded organisations and corporations is protected under UK law.

If you believe something published here is factually inaccurate, contact us before taking any legal action. We will investigate promptly and correct genuine errors.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this privacy policy we will update this page. Given our approach to data is "collect as little as possible" we don't anticipate dramatic changes.
