About Unfiltered
Who we are. Why we exist. What we're trying to do.
Who We Are
Unfiltered is run by ordinary people in the UK who got fed up of reading the news and noticing that the same questions never get asked, the same connections never get made, and the same facts never quite make it onto the front page.
We're not journalists. We're not a political party. We have no financial backers, no advertisers, no agenda beyond publishing documented facts and asking the questions that seem obvious to most normal people but apparently aren't obvious to the people paid to ask them.
We run this site on our own hardware, in our own time, at our own expense. No data is sold. No tracking. No cookies. Just a website.
Why We Exist
Because the same patterns keep appearing and nobody in the mainstream media seems interested in joining them up.
- Energy companies owned by foreign governments charging UK consumers market rates while subsidising their own citizens
- A health secretary funded overwhelmingly by private healthcare donors overseeing NHS privatisation
- A regulator funded by the industry it regulates approving every single price increase
- Anti-extremism charities staffed by donors to one political party targeting only one side of politics
- A net zero policy costing £4.5 trillion that nobody voted on and nobody will properly cost compare
None of this is secret. All of it is in public records — Electoral Commission, ONS, Companies House, Hansard, parliamentary registers. We just put it in one place and ask the obvious questions.
How We Work
Every factual claim on this site is sourced. We link to primary sources wherever possible — government data, parliamentary records, official filings, peer-reviewed research. Where we express an opinion we say so clearly.
We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we correct them. If you believe something on this site is factually inaccurate, contact us and we will investigate promptly.
We don't have a party affiliation. We criticise whoever deserves it. At the moment that happens to be mostly Labour because they're in government and have a lot to answer for. When the next lot get in, we'll be equally unimpressed.
What We're Not
We are not a conspiracy site. We don't publish speculation presented as fact. We don't name private individuals. We don't incite anything. We publish documented facts about public figures, public institutions and matters of genuine public interest.
We are not the BBC — which you may have noticed. We have a point of view. We think that matters of public interest should be reported clearly, that conflicts of interest should be named, and that the public are capable of drawing their own conclusions when given the actual facts.
We are not going anywhere. You can't defund us. You can't demonetise us. You can't pressure our advertisers because we don't have any. We're just a website on a server in the UK asking questions that should be asked.
All opinions published on Unfiltered are clearly labelled as such. Truth is an absolute defence against defamation claims under UK law. All factual assertions are believed to be accurate and sources are provided on request. We operate in the public interest. Reporting on and commenting on the actions of public figures, politicians, publicly funded organisations and corporations is protected under UK law.
